The surveyed showed that vapers were twice as likely as the general population to think the devices are “healthier than the traditional cigarettes” ,but they were also more likely to say someone could become “addicted to e-smoking.”
According to the poll:
- 10% of U.S. adults now vape
- 15% of poll participants under the age of 40 vape
- Almost 70% of current e-cigarette users started in the last year
- Almost 75% of poll participants also smoke traditional cigarettes as well
- Almost 50% of the users surveyed said they were motivated to use the devices because of friends or family
- 40% of e-cigarette users said they were began because of the ability to smoke indoors
