Ontario Canada bans all flavored tobacco products including menthol as of May 31, 2015

The province of Ontario which the capital Ottawa is located, will soon be home to the most restrictive tobacco rules in Canada. Starting soon all flavored tobacco products including menthol will be banned. The provincial government has made the measure part of the “Making Healthier Choices Act” and will ban menthol cigarettes and other flavored tobacco products — including chewing tobacco, “wine-dipped” cigars, and fruity cigarettes. The legislation would come into effect May 31 and a similar measure is being considered in Nova Scotia.per-day fines for the first offence and $1,000 daily levies for subsequent breaches.
