N.Y. State lawmakers want e-cigs banned in indoor public places and workplaces

N.Y. Assemblywoman Linda Rosenthal and Senator Kemp Hannon have introduced a bill that would ban electronic smoking device use anywhere smoking is already banned under the N.Y. state’s smokefree air law.
In December 2013, N.Y.C.’s Mayor Bloomberg signed into law a similar amendment, banning the use of such products wherever smoking is banned. It amended N.Y.C.’s smokefree air ordinance, and includes all 5 borough’s outdoor park and recreational areas.
The N.Y. Senate bill is already on the floor. The N.Y. Assembly version is in the Codes Committee and will then go to the floor. There are only a few weeks left in the session.
