Montclair’s Smokefree Parks Ban Takes Effect

Montclair’s smokefree parks ordinance, which was adopted in April, is now in effect. The ordinance makes it illegal to puff on a cigarette or cigar in any municipal park or on certain township-owned properties. Councilwoman Renée Baskerville believes that the new ban will help to promote a healthier lifestyle and will reduce the cost of treating tobacco-related illnesses.
