Japan Tobacco acquires Logic e-cigarette company

Japan Tobacco and Logic announced today that Logic will be sold to Japan Tobacco. Logic was founded in 2010 and originally was headquartered in Livingston, NJ. It’s headquarters moved to Pompano Beach, Florida in 2014.
Logic sells a full range of rechargeable, ready-to-use and disposable e-cigarettes and the newly launched Logic Pro tank system. Japan Tobacco recently acquired E-Lites in the U.K., positioning itself for a global presence in the electronic smoking device market. As of January 2014, Logic had the second highest U.S. convenience store retail sales for e-cigarettes with a 20% market share. At that time, Lorillard’s Blu e-cigarette had a the highest of such sales with a 45% market share (Lorillard is in the process of being acquired by Reynolds American).
