Wall Township considers smokefree parks (Caitlyn Bahrenburg, The Coast Star)

On December 15, The Wall Township Environmental Advisory Committee meeting invited Global Advisors on Smokefree Policy to educate the members on the benefits of smokefree parks policies, and how the town can earn Sustainable Jersey points on its SJ application, for having a 100% smokefree parks ordinance. According to the Committee, Wall Township does not have any beaches, so an ordinance would affect only parks and rec areas owned by the town.
Wendy Ritch, who is a GASP Advisory Board Member and Wall Township resident, presented to the Committee, discussing the health and environmental benefits of smokefree parks and rec areas. The Committee thanked Ms. Ritch for her presentation and shared that they are interested in learning more about the topic in 2017 and were generally supportive.
