The new casino resort Revel is likely to be the first smokefree casino in Atlantic City

A June 22, 2011 Star Ledger editorial outlines support for a smokefree Revel casino. A previously written Press of Atlantic City editorial from June 7, 2011 also supports Revel Entertainment’s indication that its casino resort property opening in 2012 may be 100% smokefree including the gaming floor.
A June 14, 2011 study in the Tobacco Control Journal looked at the relationship between a smoking ban in Illinois casinos and claims by the industry that business fell due to this policy. The study confirms the smokefree policy did not contribute to a reduction in patrons at the casinos. Read the study abstract.
