Chewing tobacco has been prevalent in baseball but the death of Hall of Famer, Tony Gwynn, raises attention to the dangers of this product. In a 1999 surgery, it was found that close to one-third of major league baseball rookies were regular smokeless tobacco users and more than two-thirds of players tried smokeless tobacco.
