The Daily Princetonian Letter to the editor: On Princeton Board of Health’s proposed tobacco sale prohibitions

The Daily Princetonian has published a Letter to the Editor from the Student Health Advisory Board concerning the proposed increase in the age of sale for tobacco products to 21. In the article, the Student Health Advisory Board drew attention to the public health implications of tobacco use and preventio. They noted that according to the National Institutes of Health, tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of disease, disability and death in the United States. Overall the mortality of a smoker in the United States is approximately three times higher than that among similar people who have never smoked.
