Paramus to discuss tobacco 21 sales (The Record, Allison Pries)

Paramus is considering an ordinance to raise the age of tobacco sales to 21, and the Paramus Board of Health has invited Karen Blumenfeld, Esq., Executive Director of Global Advisors on Smokefree Policy, to make an informational presentation to the Borough Council. Blumenfeld noted that historically it has been municipalities which serve as the impetus to change state policies.
According to The Record’s July 18 story, on June 9th the Borough Council introduced a tobacco 21 ordinance and is in the process of gathering information.
