The Fieldsboro, NJ Borough Council on May 14, 2014 unanimously adopted a smokefree ordinance for the towns parks and recreational fields. The Mayor, David Hansell, said the ban includes electronic cigarettes as well. Hansell said there was a recent incident where someone was smoking a bong in the playground. Mayor Hansell said the fine for those caught smoking in these areas can be as much as $200. “We were starting to see an issue with smoking around the playground,” Hansell said, noting that Public Safety Directory Joseph Conlin suggested the ban, as reported in the Burlington County Times on May 17, 2014.
