On January 2, 2016, CBS Philly reported on the status of pending New Jersey bill that would raise the age of sale of tobacco in New Jersey to 21. According to the article, the bid to raise the minimum age for purchasing tobacco in New Jersey is one step away from the Governors desk but time is running short.
The Assembly must act on the bill by January 11th, the last outing day n the current session, or the bill is dead. Also, the article pointed out that there is no guarantee the issue will be on the agenda. Nor is there any sign of Governor Chris Christie’s feelings on the Proposal.
