Haledon BOH passes law requiring tobacco age 21 (Kristie Cattafi, The Gazette)

On September 21, 2016 the Haledon Board of Health enacted a local law that requires retailers that sell e-cigarettes and related products obtain a license from the local Board of Health. Self-service displays of tobacco and nicotine products are also banned, thus requiring face to face sales of such items.
GASP Executive Director Karen Blumenfeld shared in the story that Haledon became the 21st New Jersey municipality to enact a tobacco age 21 law. 90% of all smokers start before age 21, which is an impetus for towns to consider such policies.
