Glen Ridge residents concerned about vape shop opening (Glen Ridge Voice, Erin Roll)

At least 270 Glen Ridge residents signed a petition to stop a vape shop from opening in town. According to the Glen Ridge Voice newspaper, the store is slated to open at The Arcade, which is near where youth congregate at two schools and athletic fields. The town bans certain types of businesses in its commercial zoning requirements, but not vape shops.
The Borough Attorney shared at the Council meeting that the business had all of their paperwork in order, but that the Borough Administrator Michael Rohal shared that the permit application did not specify what type of business was being considered for the space. The next planning board meeting is on April 20, and they plan to have a discussion on its zoning laws.
