Rutgers Camden campus considers a smokefree policy (The Daily Targum, Noa Halff)

On February 25, 2016 The Daily Targum (Rutgers University newspaper) reported that the Camden campus’ Student Affairs Committee of the Rutgers University Student Assembly in Camden is researching the options for a new smokefree campus policy. During the last semester, the Camden Student Governing Association voted against the smokefree policy by a tie-breaking vote by its president, despite student support.
The Student Affairs Committee is drafting their response to be provided to the Executive Committee, with the Chair of that Committee at this point finding through his research and campus survey, that implementing a smokefree policy would be less costly than constructing designated smoking areas, and a 100% policy is easier to implement and enforce.
