Essex County parks go Smoke-free (New Jersey Hills News)

On November 11, New Jersey Hills News reported that Essex County Freeholders has banned smoking in Essex County Parks. Karen Blumenfeld, Esp., Executive Director of Global Advisors on Smoke-free Policy (GASP), served as an educational resource provider to the Freeholders.
The Essex County Parks and Building Exterior Smoke Free Air Ordinance will cover 33 parks, reservations, other recreation facilities within the Essex County Parks System. In addition it will prohibit smoking within 25 feet of outside entrances, exists, or wheelchair ramps serving as an entrance or exit, of all structures owned, leased, rented and/or operated by the County of Essex and used for the official business of the County of Essex County.
