Wildwood Vaping Expo Canceled after Violation of Smoke Free Air Act (Press of Atlantic City, Michael Miller)

The Press of Atlantic City reported that the Wildwood Vaping Expo was canceled due to threats of violating the New Jersey Smoke Free Air Act. The expo was estimated to have held 240 vendors and thousands of e-cigarette users from across the region on an oceanfront deck. Opponents to this event stated that the deck was not enough distance from the convention centers side door to guarantee vapor would not waft into the building. Every time the door would open, the event holder would receive a ticket.
Little is known about the potential harmful health effects of using vaporizers. The state Department of Health did reach out to the event planner to inform him he could display products but not offer samples indoors. Even vaping outdoors in close proximity to the entrance was still a violation of the law.
