Smokefree casinos and public places takes effect April 22, 2015; Harrah’s Casino denied a delay.

On April 22, 2015, New Orleans’ ordinance for smokefree public places takes effect and includes gaming venues such as Harrah’s. The New Orleans Advocate reports the casino wanted the delay so it could have more time to prepare the building and customers for the change. But the New Orleans City Council refused a request from Harrah’s Casino to delay the April 22, 2015 implementation of a smoking ban in bars and gambling halls.
