Advocates push to raise smoking age to 21 in Rhode Island

On March 25, 2015, the Providence Reporter shared that Rhode Island legislators heard testimony at the statehouse on a bill that would make Rhode Island the first state in the nation to raise the legal age to access tobacco products to 21. They also heard testimony on another Rhode Island bill that would require liquids used in e-cigarettes, often marketed in sweet flavors attractive to youths, be sold in child-proof packaging, and would prohibit vaping liquids in schools.
