Montclair NJ Bans Smoking in Parks

Montclair joined the growing list of towns and counties across the state of New Jersey when it adopted a smokefree parks ordinance on April 29, 2014. The ordinance which takes effect on May 19, 2014 prohibits smoking cigarettes, cigars and e-cigarettes in municipal-owned parks and on certain other township properties. Violations of the law can cost a smoker $250 for a first offense and $500 for each additional offense.
