Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) issues position statement on electronic smoking devices

On July 9, 2014 Forum of International Respiratory Societies (FIRS) issued its position statement on electronic smoking devices and calls for bans or restrictions on the product including:

  • “Electronic nicotine delivery devices should be restricted or banned, at least until more information about their safety is available.
  • Adverse health effects for third parties exposed to the emissions of electronic cigarettes cannot be excluded.”
