Sochi Olympic Games and Park are tobacco-free, according to the World Health Organization (WHO)

The Olympic Winter Games in Sochi began on February 7. 2014. The Sochi Olympic Games Organizing Committee and the Sochi City Administration, and the World Health Organization coordinated agreed to a tobacco-free environment for all visitors. No tobacco product sales and advertising are allowed at the Olympic venues, and smoking is prohibited in all enclosed venues of the Games and on the territory of the Olympic Park. The “Tobacco-Free” Policy is well advertised, with “no smoking” signs in place and radio announcements in the Park and on the trains. Read the World Health Organization press release.
